Rasa & Root makes handmade cold process soaps in small batches in Hyderabad, and cures every bar for six weeks. Our soaps use tangedu flower, manjistha, pink French clay, activated charcoal, coffee and cucumber and spirulina, in a base of mango butter and plant oils. Hair oils are coming soon.

How we make it
Cold process soap, cured for six weeks in Hyderabad
Infuse
The botanical is steeped into the oil first, so its colour carries through the bar.
Mix and pour
Oils and butters are mixed with lye and poured into the mould in small batches.
Cure for six weeks
Soap is safe to use within days. The six weeks let the water leave, which makes a harder bar and a denser lather.
Weigh and wrap
A bar leaves the mould at about 120 g and settles to 110 g or more. We declare the lower weight, so no bar is lighter than the label.
